Indie Authors I Love: Jordan L. Hawk

I met Jordan L. Hawk when we ate dessert together at a bar in Austin. (Note: I was going to write ‘when we shared dessert at a bar in Austin.’ But seriously. When have I ever shared a dessert??) When Jordan told me she writes Gay Paranormal Historic Erotic Romance for a living, I stared at her blankly for a minute and then said, “Wait – that’s a real thing?” Lucky for me, Jordan is super cool, and she very patiently explained that yes, it is a real thing, and a very popular thing. She was too modest to mention that she is the Bomb Diggity at writing Gay Paranormal Historic Erotic Romance. She will be contributing a story from her Hexworld Series to the Ink Slingers Collective, and I am SO excited to read it.
[On November 1, I’m publishing “Winter Heat”, a contemporary romance novella, as part of the Ink Slinger’s Collective. For the next 5 weeks, I’m going to profile each of the other authors who are contributing to the Collection. What’s fun about this is that we all write very different things, so it’s going to be a really diverse collection of stories. Our only guide was the theme: Winter Wonderland.]
By the way, Saturday, October 8 is Indie Author Day. Check your local listings and go support the Indie Authors near you. I will be at the Anaheim Central Library, signing books and talking to readers. And I will have SNACKS. I’m bringing scones from the London Demerez Cookbook. You know you love scones, so come see me!
On the menu this weekend: I saw this picture of a Turkey/Apple/Brie sandwich, and can’t get it out of my head. I think it looks like a great way to glam up sandwich night at my house. Paired with a hard cider, and it looks like my Saturday night is sorted.
I’ve declared every Sunday in October to be a Screen Free Sunday, because this homeschool mom/romance author is about ready to drop from working too much. So I have all day Sunday to hang with my family and read. I’m finishing up Before the Fall by Noah Hawley. Such a good book.
Have a relaxing weekend! Let me know what are you reading/cooking/drinking?
